Caleb by Kim Mcniel

Caleb-Blurb/Teaser/Synopsis
Blurb:
Caleb loves the ladies and can't keep his ego in his pants. With a new set of legs to wrap around him every two nights, he never thinks about what he'd do if Sarah caught him - until she does.
The repercussions are cataclysmic, giving him a second chance at life. Who is Caleb really? The ego or the man he professes to be? This playa plays to win.
Synopsis:
Living a double life, Caleb is a hard-working and self-assured man, who doubles as an arrogant, cocky and womanizing prick. With his choices of women on a layaway plan, he’s never lonely.
Caleb believes he’s nailed the market on being the ultimate playa and never wonders what the consequences could be if Sarah, his live in, ever found out…until she does. When Sarah turns his life upside down, Caleb loses it and catastrophe follows not far behind.
When his world gets flipped right size up, he begins to realize the things that are really important to him. Although Caleb makes some ultimate sacrifices to save his pride, ego and relationship with Sarah, he still hides one very important secret.
Excerpt:
Stopping at the florist on the way home, I pull in and pick up a dozen pink roses for Sarah. Yes, sucking ass big time.
Hey, if it works…then I’ll be all good. When I’m good, everyone is good. God forbid I get red roses, she’d want to run off to the fucking chapel. That isn’t going to happen to me, not in this lifetime anyways. I stroll in the house.
“I’m home babe,” I yell out, dropping the folder on the table.
“Upstairs,” Sarah yells back. I know this tone.
Skipping two steps at a time, I follow the circular staircase. I dodge the hanging chandelier with my head. Something else she had to have, forgetting I am well over six fucking feet tall.
“Hi darling, these are for you,” I hand her the flowers.
“Why? Because you slammed the phone down in my ear earlier?”
And…here we go! She’s such a bitchacoholic.

SPOTLIGHT: SKELETON KID

I just seem to have a way of finding these really lovely British musicians lately! I have found another one! Skeleton kid! I ran into them on Facebook and am very impressed by their music.
Here are the members of the band:

Frankie G-Guitars and vocals
Josh D- Drums
Timmy C- Bass and vocals

In their own words on the formation of their band and what they are all about:
Skeleton Kid is a three-piece dark punk rock band who do anything and everything in the name of rock ‘n’ roll. From Bournemouth, UK, Skeleton Kid’s sound is a heavy mixture of punk, metal and 80’s rock.

The band started in early 2011 when bassist Timmy C and guitarist Frankie G came together over a love of 80s metal, punk, horror and all things excessive to create a new band with outrageous antics and a new breed of music.

Skeleton Kid have played with some of their favorite bands over 2012 and the reaction to their debut EP has been overwhelming. The bands hard work has secured them a firm fan base.

"Boot stomping punk anthems" "Middle finger attitude” and "pure punk indulgence" are just some of the comments skeleton kid have obtained within the last year of extensive gigging.

2013 brings the release of their first full-length album, produced by Tom Jobling, also more touring and debauchery in the UK. Their mission statement is to leave a trail of booze, sex and cigarettes in their wake. Come along and join the ride.

Joshua Howes-Stuart: Dragons Demise

This guy behind the camera is Joshua Howes-Stuart. A talented young man! It is my pleasure to introduce to you to him and what he is working on.

Dragons Demise is my first creation, and My baby! I started building it about a week ago using a popular RPG building piece of software. I've found it a hard process and a big learning curve but people are already telling me they love it!

Dragons Demise is set in another land in a very different time, with dragons, daemons  Succubus and all manor of vile creatures you have to fight your way across the land, recruiting more into your party and helping those in need!

I'm currently trying to build up a sort of fan base before launch, which I'm planning for British summer time, when all the student have FAR to much time on their hands. We already have a twitter @DragonsDemise and A facebook page

Eloise Crimson and the Turning Pocket Watch By James D Layton

A rather unique person has come to my attention in the past few months. One James D Layton. After many interesting conversations on FaceBook I came to find that he has written a wonderful book. It is a WWII epic with a strong SciFi twist. This is the book I present to you today....
http://www.amazon.com/Eloise-Crimson-Turing-Pocket-Volume/dp/1482667169/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362413454&sr=8-1&keywords=eloise+crimson

Eloise sits at her dull little desk in her stuffy little office and watches her pencil tip snap for the final time. The war in Europe fills her mind with stories of adventure and heroism and yet for a 17 year old English girl, her pencil is probably the most dangerous thing she has ever held. It is 1945 and her only chance to escape the status quo of her existence is a small advert in a local shop window looking for war volunteers. She packs her bags. Waves her town goodbye and heads for the train station with a deep feeling that adventure awaits. Little does she know that less than 48 hours later she will be wrapped up in a world of time travel, romance and an epic journey of self discovery. She is thrown into the viper pit as time itself is split like a smashed water melon, and Eloise must embark on a death defying plot to stop Adolf Hitler in his tracks. Thrown back to 1935 with her fellow volunteers. The Nazi army baying for her blood is only half as heart stopping as the feeling inside... that she was born to do this.

James D. Layton has been writing screenplays for over a decade, but turned to novels in 2012. He lives in England. He likes running and chocolate, and sometimes running with chocolate. His favourite book is Jurassic Park, his favourite film is Jaws and listens to many types of music. Including Jimmy Eat World, System of a Down and The Doors.

It is truly a privilege for me to call this man my friend. Come find him on social media and you too can say, I knew him when...

Book Review: 50 Italian Pastries by Jerry Guarino

It was my pleasure to do a review of this fun anthology.
If you are a super busy person like I am I think this book is for you. It is one tasty little story after another. It is hard to say what his writing style is because it seemed to vary from one story to another. I found the writing style changing from story to story refreshing and I know it takes great skill as an author to be able to do this.

I truly enjoyed reading this anthology. I recommend it to anyone who likes a little taste of good stuff.

Author Bio~

Jerry Guarino’s short stories have been published by dozens of magazines in the United States, Canada, Australia and Great Britain. His latest book, "50 Italian Pastries", is available on Amazon.com and as a Kindle eBook. Please visit his website at http://cafestories.net
